MP Kwasi Kwarteng helps open new home for people with autism
MP Kwasi Kwarteng helped to celebrate the unveiling of a new home for people with autism when he dropped in at the official launch.
The Spelthorne MP joined Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care Mel Few at the event to mark the opening of Surrey County Council and London Care Partnership’s home.
Mr Few said: “This fantastic building is a credit to all involved – including our staff and the families who helped create the home – and it will help people with autism stay among their friends and relatives in familiar surroundings.
We’re really grateful to London Care Partnership for making this happen at a time when we are facing a £215 million funding gap for the school places we need to provide and a similar pressure in adult social care to meet rising demand and additional duties.”
The new service in Sunbury-on-Thames provides a home for eight people aged 18 to 25. Four people have already moved in....
