Coronavirus

Dear Friends

This is a very challenging time for everyone. Coronavirus is the biggest threat this country has faced for many years.  We are living through some extraordinary times, and our lifestyles have changed dramatically over the past few weeks.

The Government has been following a scientifically-led, step-by-step action plan to take the right measures at the right time to tackle this crisis.

There is an unprecedented programme of support for both workers and businesses to help people through this challenging time. The Government website https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus has information on all the support available, as well as updates on the latest situation.

The Borough wide community hub https://spelthorne.isprepared.uk/ can help people find help and support locally. Surrey County Council’s community helpline on 0300 200 1008 can also put residents in touch with help and support.

If you can volunteer to help, please do register with https://spelthorne.isprepared.uk or you can register as a NHS Volunteer Responder at https://goodsamapp.org/nhs .

I am hugely grateful to all those on the front line tackling this crisis, especially our doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff. We can beat this if we work together, treat people kindly, and support our communities.

Please stay safe and keep well.

Kwasi
