Kwasi very much enjoyed attending the 70th Anniversary Dinner of the Sunbury and Shepperton Local History Society on the 1st of October. As an MP who has always been passionate about history, he was delighted to preview the Society’s Anniversary Exhibition, and to support the important work that the Society does fostering interest in local history.
Spelthorne has a rich and varied history dating back to pre-civilisation. There is evidence of human settlement in the Borough, particularly Sunbury and Ashford, that dates to the Bronze Age. Several archaeological artefacts that have been found locally over the years are on display at the Spelthorne Museum.
Kwasi is very interested in Spelthorne’s long and rich past, and he looks forward to delivering a talk on this topic to the Society in May 2022.
