Kwasi visited local housing charity Rentstart last Friday to find out more about their vital work in the homelessness sector.
Rentstart runs a rent deposit scheme that helps single people and childless couples on low incomes access private rented accommodation. The scheme provides landlords with a guarantee bond in place of a traditional cash deposit, protecting them in the event of rent arrears or damage to the property.
Rentstart also assists and advises clients with multiple and complex needs. Supported by National Lottery Community funding, the charity offers intensive on-going tenancy support to these clients in collaboration with statutory and voluntary agencies.
Kwasi was very interested to hear about Rentstart’s current projects and their plans for the future. It is reassuring to know that people can turn to Rentstart for help and advice, and Kwasi would like to thank Rentstart for their fantastic work helping local people in need.
