I was very pleased to visit Avidity Care in Staines to learn about the care services they provide to help the elderly and vulnerable individuals to remain in their own homes.

A fantastic afternoon celebrating the centenary of Staines Bowling Club.

Meeting with Chief Constable of Surrey, Gavin Stephens

This was a very productive meeting, in which I was able to express my concern regarding anti-social behaviour in some areas of Spelthorne. I also stressed my belief in the importance of community policing in deterring crime and reassuring residents.

Duke of Edinburgh Awards

I was delighted to present the Duke of Edinburgh Awards again this year, this time in the fantastic surroundings of the Council Chamber at Knowle Green.

Spelthorne Senior Schools Parliamentary event

I was very pleased attend the annual Spelthorne Senior Schools Parliamentary event, and act as “speaker” in the House of Commons style debate, ‘Is internet access a human right?’ 

Meeting with Worldwide Energy Logistics

Based in Sunbury, Worldwide Energy Logistics is another example of a successful company that has grown from strength to strength. I was very pleased to meet with the team and discussed their business and future plans.

Tree Planting Ceremony, Staines Park

In support of the Woodland Trusts project to deliver the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy, I was very pleased to be able to donate five sapling trees from the project to Staines Park. I met with residents and leaders of Spelthorne Borough Council to plant the trees for future generations to enjoy.

Job Centre, Skills and Employment event

This event is a fantastic initiative, bringing businesses and skills providers together with local residents to discuss careers and training opportunities.

Business Breakfast

Held in the Ashford Manor Golf Club and organised by Barclays Bank, I met over 30 local businesses to discuss both local and national issues.

Save Staines Park Meeting

Held at the Bowling Club in Staines, I met local residents who wanted to voice their concerns regarding the proposed development of a new Leisure Centre in Staines Park.

This was another well attended event with standing room only.
