On Friday 26th April, Kwasi met with Chief Constable Tim De Meyer at Staines Police Station to discuss local policing.
During their meeting, Kwasi and the Chief Constable discussed the problems Surrey faces as a whole and focused on issues such as anti-social behaviour and violence against women and girls. Making our streets safer is a key priority, and Kwasi is very supportive of the ongoing work to put more officers back on our streets.
Kwasi was interested to learn more about the Chief Constable’s 'Our Plan, Your Force' vision for Surrey Police. The Chief Constable also explained that Surrey Police and Sussex Police share resources such as IT and HR systems, and that such collaborative efforts make the police service more efficient meaning more time and resources put towards stopping crimes.
Surrey is one of the safest areas of the country and Kwasi is glad to hear that Chief Constable Tim De Meyer is committed to keeping it that way.
