Support grows for campaign against 'dangerous' fire station closures
People power is ramping up and preparing to hose away proposals to close Staines and Sunbury Fire Stations.
Surrey County Council’s (SCC) consultation into plans to halve the number of fire engines stationed in Spelthorne ended on November 4 but campaigners fighting to ‘save lives’ still hold hope that they can rescue the borough’s fire provision.
Now Tory MP Kwasi Kwarteng has joined the chorus of disapproval, as has Daily Mirror astrologer Russell Grant.
Spelthorne MP Mr Kwarteng labelled the plans of his fellow Conservatives at the county council as unacceptable.....
