Centenary of Stanwell WI

I was pleased to attend the Centenary celebration of Stanwell WI; the first meeting was held on 1st May 1919 and they are still going strong with over sixty members.

The occasion was marked by a special service of thanksgiving at St Mary the Virgin Church in Stanwell, followed by afternoon tea in the village hall.

It was great to visit Town Farm Primary School in Stanwell on Friday. During my meeting with the Headteacher, Mr Bhatti, I had the opportunity to congratulate him on the school’s Ofsted success, and discuss the school’s future.
