On January 27th, Kwasi presented a cheque for £466,513 to Spelthorne Rentstart. He was delighted that Rentstart were successful in their application to the National Lottery Community Fund for this vital funding.
Rentstart runs a rent deposit scheme that helps people on low incomes access private rented accommodation. They also assist and advise clients with multiple and complex needs. With this new funding, Spelthorne Rentstart will be able to help around 175 people into new housing over the next five years, and they will continue to support over 100 people who were previously housed under their Extra Support project.
In addition, the funding has allowed Rentstart to embark on a new rent guarantee scheme, which will give them control over placements and the wrap-around support they can offer their clients.
It is fantastic that people can turn to Rentstart for help, and Kwasi would like to thank them for their ongoing work to support local people in need.
