On 21st July, Kwasi visited the current Staines Library, and the Library’s new site in the former Decathlon store.
Public libraries are vital for the local community, and the Staines Library offers a fantastic range of services such as print books, Audiobooks, free Wi-Fi and help with applying for free bus passes for seniors and disabled people.
In recent years, Surrey County Council has been working to increase the impact of their library services in the county. Kwasi was delighted to learn more about the Council’s transformation programme to make Staines Library a modern, vibrant hub in the community. The programme will involve relocating the Library, creating a modern Library and Cultural Space, and integrating the Spelthorne Museum, Citizens Advice and Voluntary Action into the new hub. Kwasi looks forward to seeing the programme take shape and benefit even more local people.
