This week, Kwasi met with the new Chair of the Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership (EM3 LEP), Michael Queen, to mark the start of Mr. Queen’s leadership of the group.
It was fantastic to get a summary of the Partnership’s recent work, which includes the establishment of their Net Zero Business Support Service, and funding re-training for employees in new skill areas through the Innovation South Virtual Campus.
Thanks to CEO Kathy Slack, also present, the Partnership has fully committed to the Government’s net zero agenda throughout the transition period which saw Dave Axam retire as chair after the maximum 7 years.
The Government’s upcoming white paper on Levelling Up was also discussed, with other recent policies, and the role Local Enterprise Partnerships have to play.
