Heathrow Expansion and WPOZ

The decision to support a new runway at Heathrow is a momentous step for the UK.

Heathrow is Europe’s number one airport. Around 3,500 Spelthorne residents work at the airport, with more jobs indirectly dependent on Heathrow. To maintain Heathrow’s position and secure local jobs, Kwasi believes that expansion is the right decision for the local community and the entire UK.

It is vital however that expansion does not come at an unacceptable cost to local communities. Kwasi believes that it is possible to benefit from the economic development that a third runway will bring, whilst protecting the environment and quality of life.

Kwasi fully supports the campaign to include Stanwell Moor in Heathrow’s Wider Property Offer Zone (WPOZ). Kwasi has lobbied Heathrow directly, and is working with Spelthorne Borough Council and the Stanwell Moor Residents Association to ensure that people get a fair deal.
