Kwasi was delighted to join the community breakfast at St Hilda’s Church in Ashford on 16th July. He very much enjoyed the hearty cooked breakfast, the friendly conversation, and the opportunity to share his experiences with the parish.
18th June marked the 50th anniversary of the Staines Air Disaster. Kwasi was honoured to take part in the memorial service at St Mary’s Church in Staines, where a commemorative stained glass widow has been installed.
On 10th June, Kwasi had lunch with the Staines-upon-Thames Business Improvement District (BID) board members. The BID is a not-for-profit and business-led initiative working to create an optimal environment for businesses in Staines town centre.
Last week, the nation celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The extended bank holiday weekend provided four days of festivities and moments of reflection on the Queen’s 70 years of service.
Kwasi visited the Talking Tree Café on Staines High Street last week. Talking Tree Café is a Climate Emergency Centre that has been developed by a group of volunteers concerned about biodiversity loss and climate change.
On 4th March, Kwasi officially launched the Spelthorne Youth Hub and the ‘I Choose Local’ app, two new services that will help local young people develop their skills and kickstart their careers.
